Coffee

Blouse, shorts, belt and sunglasses – thrifted
Shoes – Topshop
Bag – vintage
Necklace- handmade

Wore this yesterday to go out for coffee. This is (was) my new favourite blouse. It’s actually modern, but 1940s in style, and it’s silk! I say was my favourite blouse because I wore it last night to do a one-off waitressing job and managed to spill hot coffee all over myself. I now have a nasty red burn on my wrist to remind myself not to be so stupid in the future. Hopefully I’ll be able to get the blouse clean.

This is probably the first nice thing I’ve worn in two weeks! I’ve been working so much that I’m starting to feel like I live in the nursing home myself.

  1. lovely picture and it's nice we can see your lovely (and hopefully not defunct) blouse in all its detail!

  2. I hope the blouse isn't totally irreparable. It is too perfect! The color, the fabric and the cut. Crossing fingers for you!

I like this outfit very much. Simple and very put together :)

  3. To clean the blouse, try this: soak it in Dr Bronner's Magic Soap (or any other gentle soap), then add vinegar to your rinsing water. The blouse will stay soft and nice, the silk won't be damaged. Hope you can save it, it's lovely (and your bag is amazing)!

  4. Love the blouse – so elegant and pretty. I hope coffee comes out?

    Also, that clutch is fabulous

  5. I love your photo!
The bag you are holding is gorgeous! I'd die to have one just like that!

  6. hubba hubba! you look like a stone fox. please save that peach blouse! it's so gorgeous on you.

  11. Everything about this outfit is perfect, imho! The ladylike blouse, the high-waisted shorts with the belt, the sunglasses!! :D Lovely :)

  12. Wonderful outfit! I hope your blouse cleans up okay, and that your burn heals quickly.

  13. So beautiful! I love the whole ensemble. And as far as embarrasing spills go, I've totally been there. I work at a coffee shop and once I was dispensing the 200 degree hot water into a teacup and the water was so hot the cup exploded in my hands and burned me all over! In front of all my customers, no less.

  14. Adorable! I love the large photos!
And your sunglasses are the thrift store find of my dreams.
I sure hope you are able to salvage that blouse.

  18. Pity about the blouse, I hate when the colour of a dress washes into your white peter pan collar, that really frustrates me!

hope the hand is ok too! x
