Wales

Last week Ian and I borrowed his parents’ camper van and took off to Wales for a mini holiday. It rained practically the whole time but it was wonderful anyway and I’d happily give up any home comforts to go again for a few days.

A few highlights of our holiday included a trip to Barry Island, a visit to the National Showcaves of Wales (where there were life-sized models of dinosaurs!) and a stop off at Happy Days, a huge vintage shop and tea room in Cowbridge.

Other memorable experiences: getting Ian and I stuck almost ankle deep in mud when I insisted on walking out to some washed up boats to take photos, winning £10 on my first venture into a casino, driving through the most beautiful countryside and eating lots of candyfloss and fried halloumi cheese.

  1. Pretty sure I’ve been there, I recall a picture of my 7 year old self looking pretend-scared at a model of a brontosaurus! You have taken some lovely photos. Happy Days sounds brilliant! I’ll have to remember to go there next time.

  2. I’m from Wales so I’m really glad you had a lovely time! It really is so beautiful here, and it doesn’t rain anymore than England really lol come back soon! xx

  7. Is it wrong how much I actually really love Wales? We used to go to Pembrokeshire almost every year and I remember a particularly wonderful dinosaur park there as well, the south must be full of them! Glad you had a good time xXx
