First Signs of Autumn

Skirt, top and shoes – thrifted
Hat – ASOS
Clutch – Vintage 1930s

What I wore, more or less, out for drinks a couple of nights ago. The hat and the sunglasses didn’t come out because it was dark by the time we left, but these days an outfit never really feels complete to me without a hat. The bag didn’t either because I’m ridiculously precious about it and going out in Coventry never tends to be the tamest of affairs (in the end I went for something a little more sturdy).

In other news, autumn is slowly starting to creep up on us here in England and I couldn’t be happier about it.

  1. Such a pretty outfit, the top is perfect! The leaves have just started turning here in the South West, too. It’s strange, it feels weirdly early for it to be feeling autumnal, but I couldn’t be happier about it either!

  2. You look so cozy and lovely! Velvet is one of the silly wardrobe things I always connect with Fall. Right when I started getting into fashion (early in college), I bought a brown velvet babydoll dress that I liked to wear right when the leaves turned. :) Anyways… The cut of that top is really amazing on you, and I definitely understand feeling a bit protective of certain vintage purses and necklaces and things.

  3. You look stunning – I love your velvet top. Your shoes are also adorable!

We’re getting a few signs of autumn here in Texas too, and I’m soooo happy about it.

  4. Oh I know what you mean about autumn! todays the first day that feels like it here in toronto, after a brutal hot weekend. I’m very excited. As for your outfit, everything is better in velvet, and those shoes are to die for. Your skin is like milk : ) I hope that’s not creepy ; )

  5. I am such an enormous fan of velvet too! I love your outfit and clutch and I cannot believe you thrifted the shoes, they are amazing!! Looking forward to seeing more Autumn outfits from you :) xxx

  6. Beautiful images, and a gorgeous outfit. I love wearing velvet at this time of year and I love how you have teamed the dress with that adorable hat….definitely a look I will aspire to creating!
