Treasure Trove

My last visit to the car boot before I headed back to university was a good one. It was like all these antique dealers had suddenly popped up out of nowhere and were offering all this wonderful ‘junk’ at ridiculously low prices. Unfortunately there were no clothes, but the bric-a-brac alone was more than enough to satisfy my vintage cravings. My favourite find? It’d be a toss up between the ‘printator’ (like an old version of the ‘mystic note pad’) and Dodie Smith’s “101 Dalmatians”, if only for those quirky little illustrations.

  1. You always find the most wonderful treasures at car boots! I love the butterflies – when I was in Glasgow in July, I bought my boyfriend three large wooden boxes full of them (the art school was getting rid of them for some reason) and so our next project is to restore the boxes and re-pin all the butterflies (I can’t wait to do it!). They’re so beautiful.

  6. I haven’t had amazing luck with car boot sales recently- the one I went to in Edinburgh last week was only kind of good. I’m going to a vintage sale tomorrow on the south side of Glasgow and I’m hoping it’s fruitful.

  7. I’ve just started blogging and stumbled upon yours – what an inspiring trove of vintage finds.
I especially like the butterflies, I have something similar at home, but am always on the lookout for more!
