National Museum of Scotland

Just a few shots from our trip to the National Museum of Scotland this morning. I took a lot more but I like the way the colours in these particular photos go together. Going to the museum is a good excuse for zoology students to get out of doing work for a while, especially now that the huge natural history section has been re-opened. It’s practically revision.

Everything I’m wearing is thrifted. The skirt was longer but I hemmed it because it originally sat at a really awkward length. And would you believe that the jumper is Celine? I think I paid about £5.00 for it, not bad! It does, unfortunately, have two rather large holes in the back but they’re quite far down so I can usually hide them.

  1. This is fab. Love what you’re wearing as usual. It’s very feminine and chic but still has some tomboy elements in there. The museum looks wonderful to visit.

  2. I have looked over this collection of photographs three times now. It is just lovely. I love the muted, brown tones, and the sense of mystery and “more” you have conveyed.

  4. I love your outfit so much and I am so jealous of your amazing ferragmos! I am desperately saving up for a pair for myself, just need to flog a few bits and pieces on ebay first… xxx

    1. Thank you! Mine are ever so slightly too big for me so I have to concentrate really hard when I’m walking in them ha ha! I don’t want to sell them though because they only cost me £2 and I refuse to spend £££ on eBay when I already have a pair! I am in serious need of some eBay flogging myself right now.

  5. I work in a natural history museum and its amazing some of the things we have in storage, like mammoth tusks and monkeys bottled in alcohol. Its always fun to go exploring the back room when I’m not working.

I love the color palette of these images too! very muted and retro. :)

  6. oh, i was there just last month! it was my first time and i was amazed at how beautiful it was inside. i think if i lived in edinburgh i’d want to go every week just to sit in the grand gallery and think. i really love that outfit!

  7. ah hannah, this breaks my heart! i was SO frustrated that the national museum reopened literally one month after i moved away. i’ll live the experience vicariously through your pictures, though – i must say, it does look great!

  8. I love Natural History museums, I was lucky enough to go to a week event at the museum in London where they showed us behind the scenes. It was amazing, one of the best things i’ve ever seen, some pretty weird things too, like a baby monkey in a jar. But still amazing.

Your outfit is lovely, I love how you can pull off every look, I always come back feeling inspired after reading your blog!

    Charlestown, xoxo.
