A Fox and a Fringe

You know you’re getting old when your Saturdays are more and more frequently spent ‘National Trusting’ as opposed to shopping or hanging out, or whatever it is kids do these days. Not that I’m complaining. Today’s visit was to the stunning Upton House (photos of that to come tomorrow or whenever my old, slow computer next decides to be compliant) and it was still just about warm enough to get away with bare legs.

I’m going to take better pictures of this bag later on because it is so perfect and deserves a post of its very own. I found it at an antique fair a few weeks ago and have been gazing at it like a besotted teenager ever since. Also, I got a fringe! A colleague cut it at work for me earlier this week. I’m still not entirely used to having hair on my face all the time, but I think I like it!

Jumper is from Aubin & Wills, everything else is vintage. Photos by Ian.

  1. The jumper suits you beautifully – it looks especially lovely with the gorgeous rust brown of your skirt but the star of the show has to be your recent find – the vintage bag! It is perfection! Definitely deserves a picture-packed post of it’s own! :-)

P.S The fringe looks so feminine and pretty

  2. I love your new hair. We call it ‘bangs’ here in Canada but I like ‘fringe’ better. It’s nicer sounding. Also, cute cute cute outfit!

  3. I wouldn’t call it getting ‘old’, just acquiring a different kind of hunger for things ;) Love the fox, how could one not love clothes with foxes on them?

  4. I can’t help but repeat the title of this post to myself in an English accent (or my attempt at one). This outfit is perfectly autumnal.

  5. Ooh I love a good visit to a National Trust site. Yesterday’s weather was glorious! Love the fox jumper, and your hair does look lovely, thumbs up to the fringe! xx

  6. Wow – your fringe looks amazing! I love the whole blunt sixties’ hair you’ve got going on! :) And the bag is super cute, I am very jealous… and one day I shall own a pair of ferragamos (one day…). xxxx

  7. Love the jumper: it’s very nice. And the little bag too. I understand what you mean when you said your saturdays are different from the past. For me now they’re different but better.
    Ciao

  8. I’ve been growing my own fringe out for the last couple of months – after a 6-year love affair with it – but now seeing yours I just want to cut it right back in. Argh! Decisions. Also that jumper is beautiful. I might have to justify buying it because my name’s Fern and so clearly I need a fox in my life…

  9. A lovely autumn outfit. Animal jumpers are so adorable <3
I think I'm an old lady at heart because I've always loved visiting ancient castles & attractions!

Your fringe looks absolutely amazing and so is your outfit. Don’t worry National Trusting is our favourite thing to do to, nothing wrong with that I say.
