A few weeks ago we visited the Newark Antiques Fair, which is apparently the largest of its kind in the whole of Europe. It was a pretty overwhelming experience and we got lost several times before getting our bearings (sort of). There was so much to see and take in that I didn’t end up actually buying much, but I’d definitely go again if only for the sheer spectacle of it.
In the end the only things I brought home with me were these seashells in glass-topped boxes. I’m a sucker for anything natural history-related!
P.S. I finally gave this blog a proper make-over. What do you think?
The antiques fair sounds like a great experience and is somewhere I would love to go one day! As for your blog make-over, it looks gorgeous; simple colours but with a really classy yet comfy edge too!
The antique fair sounds lovely, but definitely overwhelming. The seashells in glass-topped boxes are so beautiful!
The blog make-over is so beautiful. Everything is just gorgeous to look at. Definitely one of the best blog layouts I’ve seen! :)

Oh my goodness gracious! I want to use that little scream face we have on Instagram to express how amazing these are! You lucky, lucky lady. I would love to go to Newark but I don’t think I would ever have enough money for all that I would want to buy. Plus, like you said, I think that overwhelming feeling might be a little too much for me. I love your blogs new look , you are a lady of impeccable taste.
Thank you for your lovely comments too. xxxx
Wow, I just love what you found. And the blog makeover is beautiful; clean but still very you (which is cozy and vintage)…errr, I clearly can’t describe thinks well, but what I mean to say is that it looks great!
What a lovely find and your blog looks amazing! Did you design it?

Thank you! It’s a WordPress plug-in called WooSlider.
The blog looks beautiful! This is such a pretty way of storing shells! How lucky you are to live near such a magical fair!
love the new look! and this collection is so pretty. love the box.
i’m so envious of the sea shells, they’re beautiful. i’m envious of the antiques fair too, australia is such a new country (compared to europe) and we don’t preserve much, it’s hard to find anything good unless you’re in one of the bigger cities! i adore the new blog design too, it is completely gorgeous.
Your blog looks amazing, and those shells are lovely. Bet it was a fun day!
Your blog makeover is so pretty!!
Thanks for the inspiration – my boyfriend and I picked up some shells in Brighton the other week and I’ve been wondering how to display them.
I LOVE the blog makeover, it’s very inspiring! And I also love the seashells displays, they kind of look like old books.
J’adore. C’est si doux, je veux les avoir chez moi. :-)
Cute look and beautiful pictures! :)
