Today we visited Malleny Garden, which is just on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to see as, being winter, all the plants are still dormant. It was very peaceful though. We also went to a garden centre (one of my favourite past times, I’m such an old lady) and to Edinburgh’s Butterfly and Insect World, which was amazing. Butterflies everywhere! One even landed on me but I wasn’t quick enough (or flexible enough) to get a photo. I might post some photos from there tomorrow.
I thrifted this Jaegar jacket maybe a year ago, it’s weird that I haven’t shared it yet because I like it so much. It’s really good quality and such a perfect shade of camel.
Photos of me by Leanne (reunited at last!).
Beautiful photos, happy to see you had a day off uni work and got to go somewhere pretty! Your coat is an amazing find, I think you must be the luckiest thrifter there is – you’ve picked up some gems and that coat is definitely one of them…

Aw! The little snowdrops poking their head through all the rotty duff under our big birch tree is always the first sign of spring back home. There’s hope yet!

I think winter is beautiful. When the trees are dormant there is always an eery feel about an area.
I love it.
Really like your jacket. Yesterday I found one very similar in the thrift store but it’s bright red. Such a great find!

Spending afternoons walking through gardens is one my favorite past times too, I guess that makes both of us two old ladies ;) I love how you styled your dress, making it every day wearable but still looking so precious. And your vintage brooches are simply darling, stopping by your blog is always such a sweet treat for my eyes!

amazing broaches!
They look lovely with your coat!
I think it looks amazing there! I really like those kinds of places when everything is sleeping. It’s like the surroundings don’t expect any visitors. Calm and beautiful.
And I love the jacket! Lovely colour!
Hi Hannah,
I’ve been a longtime follower of the blog– I always look forward to your posts. I love you quality over quantity approach–the photos are always fantastic.
I was surprised to see how long your hair is now–didn’t you cut it to collarbone length last spring? What’s your secret on growing such gorgeous hair so fast?! I’ve been growing mine out for seemingly forever and it’s just now an inch and a half past my shoulders. :( Please pass on any secrets if you have them! ;)

Hi Ash, I don’t really have any secrets I’m afraid, my hair has always just grown quite fast. I can tell you that I rarely blow dry it unless I want to actually make an effort with it (and I’m a student so that doesn’t happen too often) so I suppose it doesn’t suffer from too much heat damage. I also haven’t cut it once since last spring, so that might help to explain things! This is the shampoo I’m using at the moment, which is actually supposed to be for really dry and brittle hair but I like it because it’s really moisturising and makes my hair nice and soft. I wash it with this every other day and then just use any random conditioner I’ve managed to get at the pharmacy. I think that’s about all I can tell you! Good luck!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write back, Hannah! :) I’ll check out that shampoo!

Gorgeous scenery and I adore your outfit. Lovely photos!
Beautiful pictures!
I was just thinking that about the coat, the color is great & it looks really high quality even in the photos. You look so pretty in it- your hair looks so nice and natural. The garden does look so peaceful and that building looks like from a movie.
