Weekend Thrift

  1. Chalkware carnival prize from the late 1940s/early 1950s. I love this crazy little guy with his weird hat and hypnotic, sparkly eyes.
  2. Old enameled wire hanging basket that I like to picture holding fruit in my future kitchen. For now though, it makes a pretty handy belt holder.
  3. Marcasite dragonfly brooch. This was actually thrifted by Ian for me. He’s a lovely boy.
  4. Vintage black suede shoes with grosgrain ribbons and little pearly buttons.
  5. Vintage polka dot blouse.

  1. I love that wire basket! I just acquired one and it could use some new paint. I love how yours has three different colors – one for each tier. Weekend DIY project in the works!

  2. You know you have found a keeper when he is confident enough to buy you a thrifted gift and knows you will love it!!!

  3. I think I am OBSESSED with polkadots lately, I love the one from the last post and this one… arg I need to go shopping methinks.

  5. Lovely blog! I found you via the Empress Society Newsletter. I love thrifting! I would love to find a hanging wire basket. I have fond memories of the one that used to hang in my grandma’s kitchen. LOVE.
