Seashell Art

There’s something really magical about seashell art and I adore it. Those pinky, feminine colours and the hint of a rainbow in mother of pearl, so at odds with the steely, Gothic styles often associated with the Victorian era.

They are pure whimsy and also quite rare, owing to their delicate nature. These are a few of the pieces I’ve managed to hunt down so far: a tiny boat made on the East Coast of France; a dresser that has seen better days (but is all the more charming for it’s weariness); and a small box that probably held something edible.
